Privacy Notice

This notice explains what data Talbot County Released Inmates may receive, how it is used, and when outside services handle it. Using the site means accepting the practices described here.

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider applies its own privacy rules.

If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to answer it. We do not share that message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data Collected

Standard technical details may be recorded when a page loads. They help operate, secure, and understand use of the site.

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on them
  • The referring site, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies may be used to measure how visitors use the pages. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected data supports a limited set of site functions:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Sending search requests to the selected partner service
  • Learning which resources visitors use
  • Finding and correcting technical faults
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

Links Beyond This Site

Links may lead to Talbot County Corrections, Maryland court or DPSCS portals, federal locators, release-record resources, and outside search providers. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs under their policies, not under the direct control of this site.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by the parties needed to provide or protect the service:

  • Search partners that process submitted queries
  • Analytics providers that measure site use
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order

Security Measures and Limits

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, however, and we do not claim that these systems are immune from every breach or misuse.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a user may:

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask that eligible personal data be erased
  • Opt out of certain processing when that right applies

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when it is posted here with its updated effective date.
